Essays, Art, Obsessions & Digital Things:

Instagram accounts @primadonnasofthegutterpodcast, @hotliterati, @simoneweilfooddiary, @chicfeast.art, @violenttradwife, @theyellowbutton, @thebun91.3, @justtatem (whom I love both unironically and ironically), @spiritualcowboygirl, @tinyhabitsofficial, @chicfeast.art, @marg.mp3

This essay, entitled "Goodreads is degrading our literary culture", which was written by Megan Nolan and published in the New Statesman. One of my mutuals shared this to their account. I haven't fully parsed my feelings about this one: this argument has the danger of crossing into elitism in a way that challenges my crunchy education degree. Definitely still processing.

The enshittification of TikTok, which is perhaps best explained by @professor_neil on Instagram in this reel. I hate TikTok. I had it for about a year (2019) and then deleted it because I felt worms-for-brains-y. Also, @professor_neil has a great account going and I like to scroll through his reels from time-to-time so I feel less guilty about being on the grid or whatever. His reel on the parents' rights movement is also very informative.

My St. Patrick rosary <3 I purchased it at the Dublin airport before my return flight from Ireland, which I think is really fucking funny. Regardless, I've been wanting a rosary for about three years now, and this felt like a cosmically correct financial decision (it was $11).

Collages and zine-making and bad art. I painted and crafted and glued and glittered a lot during the pandemic, but it fell by the wayside once things picked up in school. I've been getting back into it (shared a few of my collages on my book instagram if you're interested in checking them out) and not giving a shit if it's good. I'll usually Sharpie song lyrics or poems or snippets from my journals on top of the collages. I sometimes use prints from my film camera if it feels right!
